British post-punk pioneers Gang of Four are heading back to South America in 2027. The band has announced concerts in Brazil, Argentina, and Chile for March, marking their return to the region after wrapping up their farewell to extensive touring last year.
According to the band’s official website, Gang of Four will perform in São Paulo on March 13th, Buenos Aires on March 16th, and Santiago on March 18th. An additional concert is scheduled for March 14th at Cine Lido in Curitiba, Brazil, as reported by Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo and announced by regional promoter Agencia Powerline.
The announcement comes a little over a year after Gang of Four completed their 2025 “The Long Goodbye” tour, which was initially billed as their final major outing. The tour celebrated the 45th anniversary of their influential debut album, Entertainment!, with performances of the record in its entirety alongside selections from the rest of their catalog.
Despite the farewell billing, Gang of Four subsequently clarified that the tour marked the end of extensive headlining tours rather than the band’s retirement from live performances. In December 2025, they were announced as part of the lineup for Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival, which took place in North Adams, Massachusetts, in June. The band also played a handful of other U.S. concerts that month.
The band also returned to the studio this year, releasing the politically charged single “No Kings Here!” in April.
Gang of Four’s current lineup features founding members Jon King on vocals and Hugo Burnham on drums, alongside guitarist Ted Leo and bassist Gail Greenwood. Founding guitarist Andy Gill died in 2020. The group, formed in Leeds in the late 1970s, helped shape post-punk with its combination of jagged guitars, funk-inspired rhythms, and politically charged lyrics.
