It’s been 50 years since Sylvester Stallone wrote and starred in Rocky, and Amazon MGM Studios is celebrating the Italian Stallion appropriately. A shiny new edition of the classic underdog favorite is coming soon as a limited-edition two-disc 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Steelbook, an appropriate showcase for the acclaimed blockbuster.
Rocky, directed by John G. Avildsen, won the Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director in 1977, following an incredible box office run that made it the highest-grossing movie of 1976. In the film, according to the official description, “struggling Philadelphia club fighter Rocky Balboa (Stallone) gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot at the heavyweight title and the chance to fight for love, glory and self-respect.”
The new Rocky Steelbook will include more than three hours of special features, plus three commentaries featuring Sylvester Stallone, members of the cast and filmmakers, and renowned boxing experts, with collectible packaging that includes a souvenir mini-poster.
The Rocky 50th Anniversary Edition 4K/Blu-ray Steelbook ships on December 15th, 2026 — pre-order now to get ahead on your holiday shopping via Amazon.
