A day after a bomb threat prompted Ella Langley to cancel her concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the country singer returned to the stage in Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday night. During the show, Langley reflected on the previous 24 hours, revealing that she had also considered canceling Saturday’s performance but ultimately decided against it because of her faith in Jesus.

“I was put in charge of a decision for 15,000 people. And I decided to make the decision that I can live with the rest of my life. And that’s what I did,” Langley said of her decision to cancel Friday’s show in Tulsa. “That’s what I did, because when it comes to keeping you safe and making sure that this show is a safe place for us to come and enjoy our music, then it will happen. But the second it feels like it’s not, I’m not doing it. I’m not doing it, because no concert is worth a human life. And so I would have made yesterday’s decision 10 billion times over. I’d do it tomorrow, and I’d do it the next day.”

Langley went on to explain how her faith helped her get through the events of the day and take the stage in Lubbock.

“If it wasn’t for Him, I would have canceled this show tonight. I would have. But I felt this calling and this tug at my chest that says it’s okay: we are safe, and we can do this show. And I decided to because of Him right there, and that’s the only reason. Because like I said earlier tonight, every time I see ‘do not fear’ in the Bible, I underline it. Every single time. And I’m not gonna live in fear.”

“I usually have this big speech about being the person you wanna be, but tonight I just wanna say thank you so much for showing up tonight,” she added. “I know yesterday was scary. It was scary for all of us. But we’re just so grateful to be playing this show tonight. We’re so grateful, and we will never take this for granted. We love it. We love what we do. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. This is my favorite thing to do in my life: to get to put on a show. We’ve worked our whole lives to get to do what we’re doing, and tonight we are gonna get to do what we’re meant to do.”

Police in Tulsa received “a call saying that someone’s going to do great harm to the people” attending Langley’s scheduled Friday night concert at the BOK Center. Authorities searched the venue multiple times and found no evidence of a credible threats; Langley and BOK Center officials nevertheless decided to cancel the performance out of concern for the safety of fans and venue personnel.
