Zach Bryan took the stage at Gillette Stadium on Friday night with a fashion statement expressing support for the people of Palestine and an apparent message directed at the venue’s owner, Robert Kraft.

The alt-country singer wore a t-shirt reading “Free Palestine,” the same message Macklemore voiced while opening for Ed Sheeran last month, which ultimately prompted Kraft to lead a pressure campaign to have him removed from the tour. Bryan’s shirt also contained the phrase and emblem “An Appeal to Heaven,” a Revolutionary War-era slogan commissioned by George Washington that appeared on the Massachusetts maritime flag until 1971.

Update: Bryan wore the same shirt during his second show at Gillette Stadium on Saturday night, where he also broke the venue’s all-time attendance record.

Per TMZ, several of Bryan’s bandmates also wore pro-Palestine apparel, including Nate Head, who sported a white-and-tan striped “Palestine” jersey bearing the name Hind Rajab and the number “5.” Rajab was a five-year-old Palestinian girl who was killed in January 2024 after Israeli forces reportedly opened fire on the car carrying her and family members as they attempted to flee Gaza City following evacuation orders. Noah Le Gros also wore a green jersey with “Palestine” written across it.

Consequence has reached out to Kraft’s representatives for comment.
